Practice Values
As part of your graduation from Veterinary School you must take an oath. This is your personal pledge to adhere to the standards of the profession. If you are engaged in a private practice you must translate your personal beliefs and principals into a defined set of values by which you and your employees will conduct themselves while in the practice environment. At Perrysburg Animal Care we offer you a defined set of values that we use in our business everyday.
We assume the position of advocate for our patients even if that means disagreeing with their owners.
We resolve to utilize all methods within our power to alleviate pain and suffering in our patients.
All owners will be treated in a friendly, respectful, professional manner. Honesty will be the benchmark of all interactions.
We will not hesitate to refer our patients to the appropriate specialist if we feel the scope of the patient's condition exceeds our ability to successfully diagnose or manage the patient's care.
We will spend an adequate amount of time with every patient to answer the client's questions and educate the client about the care of his or her pet.
We will be respectful of the pet owner's time within the limitations of our ability to control our schedule. All life threatening emergency care will take priority position within our schedule.
While we acknowledge euthanasia as an integral part of veterinary medicine, we reserve the right to refuse to perform the procedure without compelling medical reasons.
We will strive to provide a clean, comfortable facility for clients and their pets.
We want to maintain a strong, open communication channel between the clients and staff so that we can fully understand the client's concerns and easily monitor the patient's treatment and progress.
Unfortunately, we must acknowledge that we will be unable to prevent the ultimate death of a patient however we will share in the loss and grieve with the client.
Likewise we will rejoice when a new pet enters a client's life.
