Our Doctor Dr. Wayne North & Chief
Dr. North's childhood experiences with animals (dogs, cats, fish, birds, pocket pets and horses) led to his desire to become a veterinarian in order to assist animals to live longer and more productive lives.
He received his undergraduate and his graduate degrees from Michigan State University, graduating in 1972. Upon graduation, he began his professional life in a mixed animal practice in Whitehouse, Ohio. After his first 6 years of practice, he began his own practice in Perrysburg and limited the practice to small companion animals and horses. The practice thrived and in 1985 he discontinued the equine portion of the practice to concentrate on small animal medicine. His goal has always been to provide the highest quality of veterinary care and service to his patients.
Dr. North has remained active in veterinary medicine and the community. He is past president of the Toledo Veterinary Medical Association, a member of the Ohio and American Veterinary Medical Associations, past president of the Perrysburg Kiwanis, past president and member of the board of directors for Assistance Dogs of America, Inc. and a member of the Toledo and Perrysburg Chambers of Commerce.
He has also taken the time to be certified in canine reproductive services by ICG/Symbiotics and has completed a yearlong graduate level course for Practice Management Certification co-sponsored by the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine and the Eli Broad School of Business.
In his private life Dr. North, has been a resident of Perrysburg since 1980.
